hold your ashtray tight!

Yes, another friday post. I know I have been slacking on the photoblog aspect of things, but I am privy to information that leads one to believe that there will be tons of pictures here soon, of abandoned and amazing places and people.

Dear Readers! All four of you! I have a question…assuming that one tries to stick to the moral straight-and-narrow, how does one differentiate between ‘what is right’ and ‘what is right for ME’? I know, I know, they should be one and the same if one is truly moral. But what if you might have a vested interest in the outcome of the situation? If you do, isn’t it hard to make that decision?

Is any of this making any sense or am I just very very hung-over?

PROMISE TO YOU: the next post will contain photos. plural.

tonight at work we made an ‘oral pig’ to please our customers and i made this poison drink to test my stomach. then i went to the lion and eagle, and the duck. gotta love the english, and naming their pubs after various animals.

oh and blah blah girls ho ho. i tell you what, it’s all about the ‘old man pants’ – i’ll wear them every thursday from now until i truly am an old man. then i’ll go naked. they will call me ‘dangerous uncle dangle’.

halloween handshake

Last night was very fun! Too fun for me to take pics! Hah!

This morning when I opened my front door, there was a HUGE pale green grasshopper sitting there. I wondered why it didn’t run away when it saw me and then I realized, “it’s fucking huge, that’s why”.

After going to my car, I turned around because I had forgotten something and there, unseen to me before, was a yellowish-pink huge grasshopper near the other one! Apparently I had walked into some sort of huge insect courting ritual. I felt bad so I left without getting whatever it is I had forgotten. I forget what it is now – my iPod?

Here is a link to Herbie Hancock on Sesame Street, teaching kids about sampling and synthesis. What a good man.

happy father’s day

If I had a son – which is very hypothetical as I practice tons of birth control, ladies – he’d get me a boglin!

I had one of these when I was a young kid. One time when my family was on a road trip, there was a van in the next lane, and a little girl looked at me and smiled and waved. I was shocked for a second, but then I knew what to do. I ducked down, grabbed my boglin out of my back pack, and raised him up into view of the window. I made him roll his eyes and wave back.

Of course, I hadn’t thought the plan out very well so I didn’t get to see her reaction, but I envisioned her screaming, ducking away from the window and describing to her parents what that naughty boy in the next lane over had just done. It’s so easy to protect/project your masculinity when you are a little boy, just hop into a mud puddle every now and then…eat the odd worm or two. Yeah, I dunno where I am going with this, either. Happy father’s day, fathers!

excellent v.o. work

So yesterday, I’m pondering just how personal to get on my blog, because I wrote a nicely-worded but very personal entry in my friends-only journal and blah blah. Then today, I wake up with a terrible headache that only changes forms as I try to vanquish it. Either way, it looked like bad news bloggin’ until I saw this.

Not too many shots here. Playing with depth of field and drastic exposure settings means mostly duds, and a few gems or proof-of-concepts. Also, I swapped out the color filters…I kinda like the orange one. Sick of colorsplash though; I think it’s time for some natural light daytime shots again.

I’ve been in a slight slump lately — gotta get out and do more stuff! Been having some very vivid dreams but the only ones I end up remembering are the ones that piss me off i.e. the ones that contain the ex. If I am going to have wild, exotic, violent, drug-laden orgies in my dreams, the least my mind could do for me, would be to remember them for more than a few hours.

Maybe my problem is that I am playing way too much Animal Crossing. I would love to live in a tiny world full of friendly animals…for about two weeks, then I’d want out. Storm season means that my migraines are back. It doesn’t feel fair to say ‘back’ – I’ve changed my diet and lifestyle a lot so that they aren’t nearly as bad, but this is the time of the year when they do hit hard, no matter what. The vivid dreams are also probably a part of that.

I’m trying to think of stuff to write about but I have a bit of a headache now and you can’t really force these things. So. Blarty-blar
